Flipkart zero commission explained: what it covers and what you still pay

Key takeaways
- As read on 14 October 2026, Flipkart lists 0% commission on products priced below ₹1,000 in any category and on all Fashion products at any price.
- Zero commission is not zero fees. Flipkart's fee page names a Fixed Fee that depends on your seller tier, and the rate card inside Seller Hub lists shipping, collection and other charges.
- Flipkart's fee page does not say whether "priced below ₹1,000" means MRP, selling price or order value, or which products count as Fashion. Check your own listing's rate card.
- Flipkart can change fees with immediate effect once posted. Work out profit per order with your own numbers and recheck them often.
Flipkart zero commission, as read on Flipkart's seller site on 14 October 2026, means 0% commission on products priced below ₹1,000 in any category and on the whole Fashion category at any price. Fixed fee, shipping, collection and other charges can still apply, and Flipkart can change fees at any time. Check your own rate card.
What does Flipkart zero commission mean? What the pages say
There are three first-party sources, and we read all three. Each is listed with the date we read it, because Flipkart can change its pages without notice.
| Source | Date | What it says |
|---|---|---|
| Fees and commission page | Read 14 October 2026 | 0% commission on all products priced below ₹1,000, regardless of category, and a flat 0% across the entire Fashion category. It names two fee types, Fixed Fee and Commission Fee, and says the rate card is in your seller account. |
| Flipkart Stories announcement | 8 July 2026 | Zero commission extended to every price point in Fashion. Before, the Fashion benefit applied up to ₹1,000. |
| Seller Terms of Use | Dated 26 June 2025 | Registration is free. Flipkart may change its fee policy, and changes take effect as soon as they are posted. |
Neither the fee page nor the announcement gives a commission rate for other categories above ₹1,000, so we print none. Third-party pages that quote a commission range for fashion or other categories can be older than July 2026. Treat them with care.
What zero commission does not mean: the fees that remain
Flipkart's fee page says two types of fees apply: Fixed Fee and Commission Fee. Zero commission removes the second one in the cases above. It does not remove the first, and the rate card inside Seller Hub defines other charges as well. The definitions below are the dashboard's own text as read on 14 October 2026, so confirm them against your account.
| Fee | What the rate card text says | Why it matters at zero commission |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed Fee | Charged on every successful sale, meaning any order that is not cancelled. It varies with order value and sub-category. | It does not depend on commission, so it stays. |
| Collection Fee | Payment collection charge, which varies for prepaid and cash-on-delivery orders. | COD orders can cost more to collect. |
| Shipping Fee | Charged for shipping to the customer, by chargeable weight and destination. Not charged on self-ship orders. | A heavy or bulky product feels this most. |
| Reverse Shipping Fee | Charged on customer returns. | It makes returns costly (see below). |
| Cancellation Fee | Charged when a seller cancels an order, with different treatment before and after the order is marked ready to dispatch. | Keep stock honest and dispatch on time. |
| Fulfilment fees | If you use Fulfilment by Flipkart, pick and pack, storage and recall fees can apply. | Slow-moving stock can cost money to keep. |
Ads, if you run them, add a cost of their own: Flipkart Ads offers Cost per Click and Smart ROI campaigns, and Flipkart says it cannot guarantee that an ad leads to a purchase. GST on fees and taxes withheld at payout also touch your settlement, so ask your accountant. The rate card is not a substitute for a profit calculation.
What is the fixed fee on Flipkart? It depends on your seller tier
Flipkart's fee page ties the fixed fee to your seller tier: Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze. Platinum sellers pay less than the base rate and Bronze sellers pay more, according to that page. The base rate itself is not on the public page, so no outside article can tell you your fixed fee. Your tier is under Growth, Your Seller Tier in Seller Hub, according to the dashboard's menu text.
What happens to Flipkart fees on a customer return?
In the dashboard's return-charges text (read 14 October 2026), a customer return reverses the commission but not the fixed fee, the collection fee or the forward shipping fee, and a reverse shipping fee is charged. Returns from unsuccessful delivery or a customer cancelling before delivery, which sellers call RTO, are not charged. The same text says reverse shipping is reimbursed through the Seller Protection Fund if the returned product is found damaged, incorrect or missing at verification.
Parts of that panel carry old wording, so confirm each line in your own rate card before you rely on it. With commission at zero there is nothing to reverse, so on a customer return you can still pay the fixed fee and the shipping fees, and lose the sale. How to reduce returns and RTO shows how to cut them.
How to see your own Flipkart rate card in Seller Hub
Flipkart's public page says to create a seller account to view the rate card on the dashboard. The dashboard's own text describes this route, and menu names can change:
- Open Listings, then My Listings, then the Active Listings tab.
- Click the calculator icon next to a product.
- Choose Average Fee & Taxes, then See Full Rate Card.
- For fees already charged, open your Order Settlement Reports instead of the rate card.
The rate card is per listing, so check a few products across your price range. Seller Lens by Flipkart also lists a Settlement Calculator in its store listing; see Flipkart seller tools for what Seller Hub and Seller Lens offer.
Is selling on Flipkart profitable? A per-order model, with no income claims
It can be, and it can lose money. The honest test is profit per order after every cost, and the numbers belong to you. Say a product costs ₹450 all in (to buy or make, and pack), sells for ₹799 with GST at an illustrative 5% inside the price, and qualifies for 0% commission. Say the fixed fee, shipping and collection together come to ₹110 an order. These are made-up placeholders, not Flipkart rates: replace them from your rate card. Assume 15% of orders come back at ₹100 return shipping each and 5% of returned items are too damaged to resell.
| What changes | Profit per order (₹) | Change from the base (₹) |
|---|---|---|
| Base case: fees ₹110, returns 15% | 182.58 | 0 |
| Fees ₹70 instead of ₹110 | 222.58 | +40.00 |
| Fees ₹150 instead of ₹110 | 142.58 | −40.00 |
| Returns 25% instead of 15% | 170.33 | −12.25 |
| Returns 35% instead of 15% | 158.08 | −24.50 |
| Ads at 5% of the selling price | 142.63 | −39.95 |
In this example the break-even price is about ₹607, and the base case leaves about 23% of the price as profit. The point is the shape, not the figures: with commission at zero, the fee bundle, returns and ads decide your profit. We show no monthly total, because multiplying by an invented order count would look like a result.
Check your numbers in the free Flipkart profit calculator
Open the Flipkart profit calculator, enter your cost and selling price, set commission to 0 if your rate card says so, and add the fixed fee, shipping and collection from your rate card, plus GST, returns and ad spend. It shows profit per order, margin and break-even price. It has no Flipkart fee table built in, because Flipkart sets those figures and changes them.

What this page cannot tell you
- Your fixed fee. The base rate and your tier are inside your seller account.
- Commission outside the zero bands. Flipkart's public page gives no percentage for other categories above ₹1,000.
- What "priced below ₹1,000" measures. The page does not say whether it means MRP, selling price or order value.
- Which products count as Fashion. The announcement defines no list.
- Shipping and collection amounts. They sit in the rate card.
- When you are paid. Flipkart's own pages describe payout timing differently and say it depends on your seller tier, so we print no number.
- What changes next. Flipkart's terms let it change fees as soon as it posts them.

Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
01What is zero commission on Flipkart?
As read on Flipkart's seller site on 14 October 2026, it means Flipkart takes 0% commission on products priced below ₹1,000 in any category and on the entire Fashion category at any price. It does not mean zero fees: a fixed fee, shipping, collection and other charges can still apply.
02Does Flipkart charge sellers any fees now?
Yes. Flipkart says registration is free, but its fee page names a Fixed Fee and a Commission Fee, and the rate card in Seller Hub defines shipping, collection, reverse shipping and other charges. Zero commission removes only the commission. Your own rate card shows what applies to each listing.
03Is zero commission only for fashion?
No. Flipkart's fee page, read on 14 October 2026, lists 0% commission on all products priced below ₹1,000 in any category, plus the whole Fashion category at any price. The page does not say what "priced below ₹1,000" measures, so confirm on your listing's rate card.
04What is the fixed fee on Flipkart?
It is a fee charged on every successful sale, and Flipkart ties it to your seller tier: Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze. Platinum pays less than the base rate and Bronze pays more. The base rate is not on the public page, so read your amount in your own rate card.
05Is selling on Flipkart profitable?
It can be, and it can lose money. Profit depends on your product cost, price, fixed fee, shipping, collection, returns, ads and tax, which no guide can see. Work out profit per order with your own numbers in the Flipkart profit calculator before you list or reprice a product.
06How do I see my Flipkart rate card?
Flipkart says to view it on your seller dashboard. The dashboard's text describes this route: Listings, My Listings, Active Listings, the calculator icon next to a product, Average Fee & Taxes, then See Full Rate Card. Order Settlement Reports show fees already charged. Menu names can change.
07Can Flipkart change its fees?
Yes. Flipkart's seller Terms of Use, dated 26 June 2025, say it can change its fee policy and that changes take effect as soon as they are posted. So any fee figure, including those on this page, can go out of date. Check your Seller Hub before you price.
