Key takeaways
- Meesho sellers do not earn a fixed amount. A supplier's profit is the profit on each delivered order times the number of orders, minus costs that do not depend on orders.
- Suppliers and resellers are different roles. This guide is about suppliers, who list products, ship orders and receive payouts.
- Meesho advertises 0% commission, but shipping, return shipping fees, ads, packaging and tax can still apply. Work out your own profit per order before you chase volume.
- We print no income figure. In our illustrative example, returns, ads and a price cut each change profit per order by tens of rupees.
How much do Meesho sellers earn? There is no fixed amount. A supplier's profit per order is the selling price minus product cost, packaging, shipping, return costs, ads and tax, times the orders you get. Resellers who share catalogs for a margin play a different role. This guide covers suppliers, shows how to estimate your profit and promises no income.
Supplier or reseller: which one is this page about?
The word "seller" covers two different jobs on Meesho, and search results mix them. Searches such as how to earn from Meesho mostly mean the second one.
| Role | What the person does | How they earn | Where to read more |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supplier | Registers on the Supplier Panel, lists products, sets prices, packs and ships orders, and receives payouts | Selling price minus product, packaging, shipping, return, ad and tax costs, on every delivered order | This guide, and the Meesho seller tools page |
| Reseller | A buyer-side user who shares products from Meesho's catalogs and adds a margin of their own | A margin on top of the product and shipping price | Meesho's own Business Academy FAQ on earning with Meesho |
We cover suppliers only. We could not verify how Meesho runs the reselling programme today, so we do not describe it beyond the line above. Read Meesho's own page for the current rules. Whichever role you choose, no guide can tell you what you will earn.
How much does a Meesho supplier earn per order? One formula
A supplier keeps what is left of each delivered order after the costs of that order. Then the number of orders multiplies it.
- Profit per order = selling price − product cost − packaging − shipping charges − GST in the price − the average cost of returns and RTO − ad spend per order.
- Profit for a month = profit per order × orders that stay delivered − costs that do not depend on orders, such as rent, a helper or software.
- Margin = profit per order ÷ selling price. It tells you how much room a price cut or an ad has.
A high order count only helps when the first line is positive. Why sales grow but profit falls shows how volume can hide a loss.
What does Meesho say about commission, and which costs still apply?
Meesho's official Sell on Meesho YouTube channel describes selling at 0% commission, as read on 14 October 2026. That is marketing wording for one line, and it does not mean selling costs nothing. Meesho's supplier pages also list the costs in the table below, so count each one in your own profit per order.
| Cost | Who sets it | Where to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Product cost | You and your supplier | Your own bills |
| Packaging | You. Meesho's shipping page says it does not supply packaging | Your purchase bills, and the packaging guidance in your panel |
| Shipping charges | Meesho | Orders and Payments in your Supplier Panel, on recent orders |
| Return shipping fee | Meesho. It is weight-based and shown per product | The product's details in your panel |
| RTO (undelivered parcel that comes back) | Meesho says no extra shipping fee is charged, but the sale is lost | Orders, then Return/RTO |
| Ads | You choose to run them; Meesho charges on engagement clicks | The ads section and Ads Cost in Payments |
| GST and tax | The tax rules for your registration | Your accountant, and the GST portal |
We quote no rates. Meesho seller fees and charges explained lists where to find each figure in your panel, and says how Meesho's own pages disagree on some of them.
A worked example of a Meesho supplier's profit per order
Say a saree costs ₹350 all in, to buy or make, pack and ship, and sells for ₹520, with GST at an illustrative 5% inside that price. Assume 10% of orders come back at ₹90 return shipping each, 5% of returned items are too damaged to resell and 5% of orders are RTO at the same ₹90. Every number is made up and round. Enter them in the Meesho profit calculator and you get the same result.
| Line | ₹ per order | How it is worked out |
|---|---|---|
| Selling price | 520.00 | What the customer pays |
| Product, packaging and shipping cost | 350.00 | Your all-in cost for one unit |
| GST inside the price | 24.76 | 520 × 5 ÷ 105 |
| Cost of returns | 9.00 | 10% of orders × ₹90 return shipping |
| Damaged returned stock | 1.75 | 5% of returns × ₹350, spread over all orders |
| Cost of RTO | 4.50 | 5% of orders × ₹90 |
| Profit per order | 129.99 | About 25% of the selling price |
We show no monthly total on purpose. Multiplying by an order count would give a number that looks like a result, and a made-up order count is not one. Use your own.
What moves a supplier's profit most
| What changes | Profit per order (₹) | Change from 129.99 (₹) |
|---|---|---|
| Returns rise from 10% to 20% | 119.24 | −10.75 |
| Returns rise from 10% to 30% | 108.49 | −21.50 |
| Ads cost 5% of the selling price | 103.99 | −26.00 |
| Ads cost 10% of the selling price | 77.99 | −52.00 |
| Price cut to ₹480, same cost | 91.89 | −38.10 |
| Price cut to ₹450, same cost | 63.32 | −66.67 |
The calculator spreads return costs across all orders but does not also remove the profit on the refunded sale, so at a high return rate read its figure as a best case. Your own category sets the real numbers. How to reduce returns and RTO on Meesho shows how to find the cause.
How to estimate your own profit per order
- Pick one product. Add up what one unit really costs you: the product, packaging and your own shipping to the courier.
- Read three real orders in Payments: one delivered and kept, one customer return and one RTO. Note every charge Meesho shows against each.
- Enter your numbers in the [Meesho profit calculator](/meesho-profit-calculator): cost, price, GST, return rate, and RTO rate and return shipping on the Advanced tab.
- Find the break-even price. The calculator shows the lowest price at which you neither gain nor lose. Do not go below it except to clear stock on purpose.
- Repeat each month. Meesho charges, your costs and your return rate all move. For the full per-order sum, read how to calculate profit on Meesho.
What nobody can promise about Meesho seller income
- An income range. It depends on your category, price, cost, returns, ads, season and competition, none of which a guide can see.
- That a rival's story applies to you. Stories rarely say the costs behind the earnings, or how many sellers tried the same thing and stopped.
- That more orders mean more money. Only a positive profit per order does. See how to increase sales on Meesho for finding where orders are lost.
- That a tool will raise your income. Rocket Listing can refill Meesho's single-catalog form from a template, which may save retyping, and it does not change what you earn per order.

Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
01How do sellers earn money on Meesho?
A supplier earns the selling price of each delivered order minus the cost of the product, packaging, shipping, returns, ads and tax. A reseller, a separate buyer-side role, shares catalogs and keeps a margin. Meesho advertises 0% commission, but other costs can apply, so work out profit per order before you chase orders.
02How much can a Meesho seller earn per month?
No honest number exists. It depends on your category, price, costs, returns, ads and how many orders you get. Guides that quote a monthly range do not know your costs. Work out your profit per order in the Meesho profit calculator, then multiply by the delivered orders you can realistically expect.
03Is selling on Meesho profitable?
It can be, and it can lose money. Profit depends on whether each order leaves something after product cost, packaging, shipping, returns, RTO, ads and tax. Check the break-even price for each product first. A product that loses money per order loses more as it sells more.
04What is the difference between a Meesho supplier and a reseller?
A supplier registers on the Supplier Panel, lists products, sets prices, ships orders and receives payouts. A reseller is a buyer-side user who shares products from Meesho's catalogs and adds a margin. We cover suppliers; read Meesho's own Business Academy FAQ for the reseller rules, which we could not verify.
05Does Meesho charge commission?
Meesho's official Sell on Meesho channel describes selling at 0% commission, as read on 14 October 2026. That is marketing wording. Meesho's supplier pages also list shipping charges, a return shipping fee, ads you choose to run and Payments-tab deductions, so check your own statements for what is actually taken off.
06How do I work out my profit per order?
Subtract from the selling price your product cost, packaging, shipping, GST in the price, the average cost of returns and RTO, and ad spend per order. The free Meesho profit calculator does it from the numbers you enter and also shows margin and a break-even price. It has no fee table built in.
07Meesho se paise kaise kamaye?
Pehle tay karein ki supplier banna hai ya reseller. Supplier ki kamai har order ka selling price minus product, packaging, shipping, return, ads aur tax hoti hai. Koi fixed amount nahi hota. Apna profit per order Meesho profit calculator mein nikaalein aur Payments tab ke asli charges daalein.
