Best products to sell on Meesho: which ones earn more after returns

The categories Meesho sellers keep naming, why the most-ordered product is not always the one that earns more, and a check to run before you buy stock.

A street market in Ayodhya with clothes hanging on racks on the left, stalls on the right and a few people walking away down the road.

Key takeaways

  • Meesho publishes no official ranking of categories. Lists online repeat women's ethnic wear, home and kitchen, beauty, jewellery and accessories, but they are seller-education articles, not Meesho data.
  • The product that sells most is not always the one that earns most. What counts is profit per order after returns and RTO, times the orders that stay delivered.
  • In our made-up comparison, the fashion item has the highest profit per order in the calculator, but only the second highest once its returns are counted strictly.
  • Run any product through the six checks below, and the free calculator, before you buy stock. None of this promises sales.

The best products to sell on Meesho are the ones that leave a profit after returns, not simply the ones that get the most orders. Sellers' guides keep naming women's ethnic wear, home and kitchen, beauty, jewellery and accessories. Meesho publishes no official category ranking, so test each product's margin yourself before buying stock.

What are the best products to sell on Meesho? Categories sellers name

There is no official Meesho report that ranks categories by orders or profit, and we found none. What exists are seller-education articles, such as a Shiprocket list of 15 popular products dated 16 March 2026 (read on 15 October 2026). Those lists draw on other blogs, disagree on what is growing fastest and print no return rates. Treat them as a starting list of ideas, not proof of demand.

Categories that seller-education lists keep naming, and what to check first (not Meesho data)
CategoryWhy lists name itWhat to check before buying stock
Women's kurtis, sarees and ethnic wearAlways on the lists; most Meesho shoppers browse itMany rivals. Size and colour mismatch drives returns, so check size measurements and your own return rate
Western wear and kids' clothingNamed as growing among younger shoppers by some listsSizing is the main return reason. Other lists disagree on how fast it is growing
Home and kitchenEveryday use, repeat buying, few size variantsBreakage in transit, weight (return shipping is weight-based) and thin unit margins
Beauty and personal careNamed as growing with video and influencer contentRules on what may be sold, expiry and sealed packaging. Check Meesho's category rules in your panel
Artificial jewellery and accessoriesLow price, light parcels, easy to giftFinish and colour match photos; low prices leave little room for returns or ads
Footwear, bags and mobile accessoriesAppear on most listsFit and quality complaints; look-alike products from many sellers
Glass-fronted shop shelves packed with stacks of colourful bangles under bare light bulbs
Stock photo: bangles on shop shelves. A generic picture, not a Meesho seller or product.

Which product earns more on Meesho? Orders versus profit

A product earns more when profit per order, after every cost and every return, times the orders that stay delivered is higher. A popular product with a high return rate can earn less than a quieter one that stays sold. Three made-up products show how.

Made-up example: three generic products, same costs method, calculator view and strict view
Product (made-up)Cost / price (₹)Returns / RTOMargin in the calculatorCalculator profit per order (₹)Strict profit per order (₹)
Low-price accessory60 / 1298% / 5%41.5%53.5245.35
Fashion item250 / 44925% / 10%32.6%146.4984.33
Kitchen item160 / 2996% / 3%38.9%116.18104.95

The calculator view is the free Meesho profit calculator, which spreads return shipping, damaged stock and RTO cost across all orders. It does not also remove the profit on the refunded sale. The strict view does: per 100 orders, only the orders that stay delivered earn price minus cost and GST, and each return or RTO costs its return shipping and loses the sale. Charging an RTO the return shipping is a cautious assumption: Meesho's pages say no extra shipping fee is charged on an RTO, so set RTO to 0 in the calculator if your Payments tab shows none. The illustrative assumptions are GST 5%, no commission or ads, return shipping ₹70 to ₹90, and 5% of returned stock damaged.

  • In the made-up example the fashion item looks best on paper (₹146 a unit in the calculator) and drops to about ₹84 in the strict view, because 35 of every 100 orders do not stay delivered.
  • In the example the kitchen item barely moves (₹116 to ₹105) because few of its orders come back.
  • Cut the example fashion item's returns to 10% and RTO to 5% and its strict profit becomes about ₹138. Returns are the lever in this example, which is why reducing returns and RTO deserves as much attention as the choice of category.
  • The accessory has the best margin percentage and the smallest rupee profit. It needs many orders, so ad costs hurt it most.

These products and numbers are made up and chosen to show the method. They do not describe any real category. Use your own cost, price, return and RTO numbers.

Six checks before you buy stock for any product

  1. Profit per order after returns. Enter cost, price, GST, return rate and RTO into the Meesho profit calculator, then do the strict sum above. If it does not leave something worth the effort, drop the product.
  2. Break-even price. The calculator shows the lowest price at which you neither gain nor lose. If similar listings sell below it, you cannot match them.
  3. Return reasons. For a clothing item, look at the ratings and reviews on similar listings for size, colour and quality complaints. Those complaints become your returns.
  4. Parcel weight and breakage. Return shipping on Meesho is weight-based and shown per product in your panel. A heavy or fragile item raises your return cost.
  5. Rivals and ratings. Open the top results as a shopper would. Count how many look like yours, how many ratings they have and what they charge. Our Seller Insights card shows price, rating breakdown, review count, listing age and estimated sales on Meesho product pages. The sales figure is an estimate, never Meesho's number.
  6. Rules and approvals. Some categories need extra documents or have selling rules. Check Meesho's current category rules in your Supplier Panel before you buy anything.

How to find products to sell on Meesho turns these into a scorecard and shows how Meesho's own Product Recommendations tool (Trending Searches, Top Selling) fits in. Treat demand signals as a reason to test, since demand is not profit.

How to test a product without a large order

  1. Start with a small batch you can afford to lose, or a product you can source on demand.
  2. List it with true photos and measurements, so the cause of any return is the product, not a gap between photo and parcel. The Meesho listing checklist covers this.
  3. Track orders, returns, RTO and profit per order for a few weeks. Meesho shows return reasons in your panel.
  4. Add stock only if profit per order holds after returns. Add products one at a time, so you can tell what caused a change.

If you list many similar products, the Meesho autofill extension fills Meesho's single-catalog form from a template you record once. You still edit each product's name and description, add the photos and press Publish yourself. It does not choose products or change how many orders you get.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

01

What are the best products to sell on Meesho?

No single product is best for everyone. Seller guides keep naming women's ethnic wear, home and kitchen, beauty, jewellery and accessories, and Meesho publishes no official ranking. A product is good for you if profit per order stays positive after returns, RTO, shipping and ads. Test each one with your own numbers.

02

Which product sells the most on Meesho?

Seller lists put women's ethnic wear such as kurtis and sarees first, but we found no official Meesho figure. High sales volume also means many rivals and, for clothing, more size-related returns. What sells most and what earns most can be different products.

03

Which product earns more profit on Meesho?

The one with the higher profit per delivered order and the lower return and RTO rate. In our made-up example, a fashion item with 25% returns earned less per order than a kitchen item with 6% returns, though it looked better in the calculator (₹146.49 against ₹116.18 a unit) before returns were counted strictly. Check your own numbers in the calculator.

04

Is clothing the most profitable category on Meesho?

We have no data that says so. Clothing sells in large volume, but size and colour mismatch often drive returns, which cuts profit. Some sellers do well in it. Work out profit per order with your own return rate before deciding.

05

How do I find trending products on Meesho?

Open Product Recommendations in your Supplier Panel and read its trending lists, or search as a shopper and read ratings on the top results. Trending shows interest, not profit, so check your margin and your rivals before you buy stock. Our guide on how to find products to sell on Meesho has the full scorecard.

06

Can I start selling on Meesho with no investment?

Meesho's supplier pricing page, as saved in February 2024, describes registration as free, but you still need a product, packaging and a way to ship it. Some people source from a wholesaler on demand rather than holding stock. Costs such as return shipping and ads can still apply, so work out your profit per order first.

07

Meesho par kya becha jaye?

Koi ek product sabse achha nahi hota. Pehle apna profit per order return aur RTO ke baad nikaalein. Women's ethnic wear, home and kitchen, beauty aur jewellery seller guides mein aam hain, par Meesho ki koi official ranking nahi hai. Chhote batch se test karein.
