How we write and check our seller guides
Who writes these guides, where the facts come from, how numbers are labelled, how AI is used and how to tell us about a mistake. We keep it short because a policy nobody reads protects nobody.
Last reviewed 15 October 2026Applies to every guide and calculator page on this site
1. What these guides are for
The guides on this site help Indian online sellers, Meesho suppliers first, to list, price and run their business with clear numbers. They are not legal, tax or accounting advice, and they are not Meesho's own documentation. When a guide and your own Supplier Panel disagree, trust the panel and tell us.
We also make a product: Rocket Listing, a Chrome extension that autofills Meesho's single-catalog form. Where a guide mentions it, the guide says what it does and what it does not do, and no guide depends on you using it.
2. Where our facts come from
A fact about a marketplace (a fee, a rule, a feature name, a date) comes from that marketplace's own public pages: Meesho's Learning Hub and its official Sell on Meesho YouTube channel, and the fee pages, announcements and seller FAQs of Flipkart and Amazon. Each one is dated with the day we read it (“as read on 14 October 2026”) and links to the page it came from.
- Meesho's Supplier Panel blocks automated readers. Some Meesho facts therefore come from saved copies of its pages, or from its official videos. A guide says so, with the year of the copy, so you can judge how old the wording may be.
- No figure without a source. We print no fee, commission, GST, payout day, penalty or QC rule unless it is dated and linked. Otherwise the guide says “check your panel” and shows where to look.
- Other tools. When we compare tools, including competitors of ours, we use only what their own public pages and store listings say, read on a stated date, and we list where Rocket Listing is weaker.
3. Numbers, examples and income
- A worked example uses round, made-up numbers and is labelled “illustrative” or “made-up” in the text, the table caption and the picture. The sums use the same formulas as the free Meesho profit calculator, so you can repeat them.
- We do not publish an income range, a “typical seller” or a promise of earnings. A seller's story appears only when its source is named and what it leaves out (usually costs and returns) is said next to it.
- Statistics must have a source we can name. A claim we could not trace, such as a headline percentage of sellers who quit, is called unsourced and not repeated.
4. How the guides and pictures are made
We use AI tools to help draft and edit guides and to write the scripts that draw our pictures. AI output is never treated as a source: every marketplace fact is traced to a page it cites, and our automated checks run before a guide is published. They test length, claims we do not allow (such as automation on marketplaces the extension does not support, speed or savings claims, and user counts), links, dated sources and whether a figure is labelled. The Rocket Listing team is responsible for what is published.
- What we have not done yet. We have not tested every step in a live Meesho panel, and some guides rest on saved copies of Meesho's pages. Where a guide relies on a saved copy or an unchecked step, it says so, and we do not edit a guide to sound more certain than the evidence allows.
- Pictures. The charts and diagrams are drawn by us from the numbers written on the same page, and the text says when they are made up. Stock photos are credited and are labelled as stock photos; they never show a Meesho seller, product or screen.
5. Independence
- Rocket Listing is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Meesho, Flipkart, Amazon or Myntra.
- No tool pays to be listed or ranked in our comparisons.
- We do not call our own product the best, and we show no ratings, reviews or testimonials that we cannot back up.
- Flipkart, Amazon and Myntra automation is not available in the extension. Pages about those marketplaces are guides and calculators only.
6. Dates, updates and corrections
- Each guide shows when it was published and, when different, when it was last updated. We change the updated date only for a real edit, never to look fresh.
- The date beside a marketplace fact is the day we read its source. Marketplaces change fees and rules often, so we re-read the pages behind our fee and comparison guides regularly and change the date only after we have.
- Found an error or an out-of-date figure? Email coding2020@gmail.com or use the contact page, and name the page and the line. We fix it, change the date and, when a number changes, say what changed on the page.
