Meesho bulk upload vs single catalog: which to use, and where autofill fits

How Meesho's Excel template and the single-catalog form compare, where bulk files go wrong, and where an autofill extension fits.

Key takeaways

  • Plan one bulk file per category: Meesho has you choose the category before you download the Excel template, so scattered one-offs usually suit the single-catalog form.
  • Both routes end in Meesho's quality check. For a bulk file, download the error file, correct your original Excel and upload it again.
  • No rule of thumb beats timing it: do three products each way and compare your own minutes. The worked example below uses made-up numbers.
  • Rocket Listing autofills only the single-catalog form. It does not fill the bulk template, upload photos or press Publish.

Meesho bulk upload is the Add Bulk Catalog route: you fill an Excel template for one category with many products and upload the file. Add Single Catalog is the form for one catalog at a time. Bulk suits many similar products; the form suits fewer or varied ones. Rocket Listing autofills the form only, not bulk upload.

The panel steps below follow Meesho's Learning Hub lessons on bulk upload, single upload and QC errors, as read on 14 October 2026 from archived copies that date from 2024. We could not open the live panel while writing, and Meesho may have changed these pages since, so check each step on your own screen. For the autofill side, see the Meesho autofill extension page.

What are the two ways to list on Meesho?

Both routes sit under Catalog Upload in the Supplier Panel, and both end in Meesho's quality check (QC) before a catalog goes live. This is how Meesho's lessons describe the difference, as read on 14 October 2026.

Three things get called a template: the Excel template (bulk), Meesho's template (the one you pick at the start of the single-catalog form) and the recorded template Rocket Listing saves when you fill one product by hand. Single-catalog steps are in how to upload a catalog on Meesho; in Hinglish, read Meesho par product upload kaise kare.

How to bulk upload on Meesho: the Excel template route

Meesho bulk catalog upload is built into the panel: choose Add Bulk Catalog, pick the category, download its Excel template, fill it and upload it. These are the steps in Meesho's bulk lesson, as read on 14 October 2026.

  1. Open Catalog Upload in the Supplier Panel and choose Add Bulk Catalog.
  2. Search for your category and select it. The template belongs to that category, so plan one file per category.
  3. Download the Excel template. Read its instructions tab, and the example sheet if it has one, before you type.
  4. Fill the data tab. Red header cells are mandatory and green ones are recommended. Use the template's dropdowns rather than your own wording.
  5. Add image links. The lesson describes a separate Images Bulk Upload step that creates the links to paste in; look in your panel for where it sits today.
  6. Upload the file, then open the QC Error page. Every catalog is checked before it goes live, and errors are listed there.

Where do you get the Meesho bulk upload template?

From your own panel, after you choose the category on Add Bulk Catalog. Copies of the bulk listing Excel sheet on other websites or in forwarded messages may not match what your panel serves today, and we cannot check them for you.

Why does my Meesho bulk file show errors?

Because Meesho's quality check found something in a catalog from your file that it will not accept. In Meesho's QC lesson (read 14 October 2026), errors are listed on the QC Error page; for a bulk file you download the error file, read its Error Status and Error Message columns, correct your original Excel and upload it again.

The lesson names six error types: Wrong Category, Duplicate SKU ID and Product ID, SKU ID error, Image Link error, Product Description error and Image Upload error. It says other reasons exist, so trust your panel's message over any table, including ours. The audit below turns three of those names, and the red-cell rule, into checks for your sheet.

No repeated SKUHighlight duplicates in the SKU column (in Excel: Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells Rules, Duplicate Values).Duplicate SKU ID and Product ID is a named QC error.

After the corrected file goes up, check the QC Error page again and note the error names you meet. How to upload a catalog on Meesho explains what each name points to, and Meesho QC error and blocked catalog fixes covers causes beyond the six.

Meesho bulk upload vs single catalog: which should you use?

Use bulk when many products share one category and their details already sit in a spreadsheet. Use the single-catalog form for a few products, products spread over many categories, or a listing you want to check on screen first. This is our reading, not a Meesho rule; the next section shows how to time both routes.

Which route fits which situation
Your situationRoute that fitsWhy
One or two new productsAdd Single CatalogNothing to set up and no image links to prepare. A recorded template has nothing to repeat yet.
Many products in one category, details already in a sheetAdd Bulk CatalogOne file and one upload cover the batch, and your data is already in rows.
A few products in each of many categoriesAdd Single CatalogA bulk file is tied to the category you chose, so you would handle many small files.
Same category every week, same sizes and pricesBulk if you keep a sheet; single catalog with a recorded template if you do notBoth keep the repeating answers: the sheet as rows, a recording as saved steps. With a recording you still change the name and description and add photos.

Bulk makes it easy to list a whole batch at once, which only helps if each product earns money. Check one in the Meesho profit calculator first.

Worked example: splitting 40 products between bulk and the form

Illustrative numbers, made up to show the method. Say you have 40 new products: 25 cotton kurtis in different prints, 9 dupattas, and 6 one-offs that each sit in a different category.

Illustrative batch of 40 products split by category
GroupProductsCategoriesBulk files if all bulk
Cotton kurtis2511
Dupattas911
One-offs666
Total4088

All-bulk would mean 8 files, 6 of them holding one product. The 25 kurtis are the clear case for one bulk file. The 6 one-offs fit the form, because a one-product bulk file still needs the template download, the instructions and an upload. The 9 dupattas are borderline, so time them:

  1. Form: list three dupattas by hand, photos included, and note the minutes per product.
  2. Bulk: put three more in a file. Note the one-off work (download, instructions, image links, one pass through the error file) apart from the minutes per product.
  3. Rocket Listing, if you use it: record the first of the last three as you list it by hand, then fill the other two from the recorded template. Count the recording as one-off work, and count the name and description edits, the photos and the review.

For each route, total minutes are the one-off minutes plus minutes per product times products. With made-up numbers, the form has no one-off work and takes 10 minutes a product, while bulk has 90 one-off minutes (60 to set up, 30 to clear the first error file) and takes 4 per product. The 9 dupattas cost 90 minutes in the form and 126 in bulk; the 25 kurtis cost 250 and 190. Bulk pulls ahead above 15 products: 90 divided by (10 minus 4). On a repeat batch the one-off minutes shrink, so the break-even falls.

Is there a Meesho bulk listing tool, and where does Rocket Listing fit?

Meesho's own bulk listing tool is Add Bulk Catalog with its Excel template. Other extensions and services exist, and they do different jobs. Rocket Listing does not do bulk upload: on the Supplier Panel it works only on the single-catalog Add and Edit pages.

What Rocket Listing does on the single-catalog form

  • You press Start Record Steps, fill one product by hand and press Stop recording. For the next product, open the form for the same category and press play.
  • It fills the text, numbers, dropdown choices, size selection, per-size price, MRP, inventory and SKU rows, and ticked checkboxes you recorded. A template will not fill a form from another category, and a report shows which fields failed and why.
  • On the edit page of an existing listing, Convert into template saves that listing as a recorded template.

What it does not do

  • Bulk upload or Excel. It will not record or fill on the Add Bulk Catalog page, and on Meesho it does not open, fill or create your Excel template or error file.
  • Photos and Publish. You add the photos, review every field and press Publish yourself.
  • Names and descriptions. A recorded template saves the text you typed, so change the name and description for every product.
  • QC. It cannot predict whether a catalog will clear Meesho's quality check.

It runs in desktop Chrome 114 or newer, needs a Google sign-in and keeps Meesho templates in your browser on your computer. The Meesho autofill extension page lists everything it covers.

Before you try any tool that says bulk, ask which Meesho page it works on, whether it uploads photos or presses Publish for you, and what access Chrome lists for it. Test one product first. Meesho autofill extensions compared sets the options side by side; Meesho seller tools by job covers other jobs. As of 14 October 2026, some search results for 'bulk upload tool' connect an online store to Meesho, a different job from filling Meesho's template.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

01

How do I bulk upload products on Meesho?

Meesho's bulk lesson, as read on 14 October 2026, gives these steps. In the Supplier Panel, open Catalog Upload and choose Add Bulk Catalog, select the category, download its Excel template, fill it (red header cells are mandatory, green ones recommended) and upload the file. Errors then appear on the QC Error page.

02

Where do I get the Meesho bulk upload template?

From your own Supplier Panel: Catalog Upload, Add Bulk Catalog, choose the category, then download the Excel template. It belongs to the category you pick, so download one per category. Copies from other websites or forwarded messages may not match what your panel serves today.

03

Is there a Meesho bulk listing tool?

Meesho's own tool is Add Bulk Catalog, with its Excel template. Other extensions and services exist and do different jobs, so ask which Meesho page a tool works on and test one product first. Rocket Listing fills the single-catalog form from a recorded template and does not touch the bulk page.

04

Bulk upload or single catalog: which is better?

Neither wins every time. Bulk suits many products in one category whose details already sit in a spreadsheet; the single-catalog form suits a few products, many categories, or a listing you want to check on screen. If you cannot tell, time three products each way and compare your own minutes.

05

Why does my bulk file show errors?

Meesho's quality check found something in a catalog that it will not accept. In the error file, read the Error Status and Error Message for each flagged row, fix those cells in your original Excel and upload again. Meesho's lesson names six error types, among them Wrong Category and Image Link error, and says others exist.

06

Does Rocket Listing do bulk upload?

No. Rocket Listing autofills Meesho's single-catalog Add and Edit forms from a template you record once. On the bulk catalog page, and every other Supplier Panel page, it does not record or fill. It also does not upload photos or press Publish; you do both yourself.
