Meesho seller fees: shipping, RTO and return charges, and where to check them
A dated map of what Meesho says sellers still pay beyond 0% commission, and where in your panel to read your own figures. It quotes no rates.

Key takeaways
- 0% commission is one line on the bill. Meesho's supplier pages also list shipping charges, a return shipping fee, ads you choose to run, packaging and deductions.
- A customer return carries a weight-based return shipping fee. Meesho's pages say an RTO parcel carries no extra shipping fee, but it is still a lost sale.
- Read your own figures in three places: the product's details, Orders then Return/RTO, and the Payments tab.
- This guide quotes no rates. Put your own numbers into the Meesho profit calculator.
Meesho seller fees go beyond commission. Meesho advertises 0% commission, but its supplier pages, as read on 14 October 2026, also list shipping charges, a return shipping fee on customer returns, ads you choose to run, packaging you buy yourself and Payments-tab deductions. RTO means an undelivered parcel comes back to you. This guide quotes no rates.
Meesho seller fees at a glance: every cost line and where to check it
Use this table as a checklist of Meesho seller charges. The middle column is what Meesho's own pages say (as read on 14 October 2026). The right column is where to read your own figure, because the amounts are Meesho's to set and can change.
| Cost line | What Meesho says (as read on 14 October 2026) | Where to read your own figure |
|---|---|---|
| Commission | Meesho describes selling at 0% commission on its official Sell on Meesho YouTube channel. That is marketing wording. | Your Payments tab, for what is actually taken off |
| Shipping charges | Listed among the costs that still apply to suppliers. | Orders and Payments in your Supplier Panel, on a few recent orders |
| Return shipping fee | The seller pays it when a customer returns an order. It is based on weight and shown per product. | The product's details in your panel |
| RTO | An undelivered parcel that comes back to you. No extra shipping fee is charged on it. | Orders, then Return/RTO |
| Ads | A cost only if you choose to run ads. | The ads section of your panel |
| Packaging | Meesho's shipping page says it does not supply packaging, so it is your cost. Newer Meesho videos describe branded packaging that sellers can buy through the Meesho app. | Your own purchase bills |
| Deductions | Shown in the Payments tab, under Deductions and Compensations. | The Payments tab |
Taxes such as GST are a separate subject, and this guide quotes no tax rates. Ask your accountant or check the GST portal for current rules. Once you have your own figures, the Meesho profit calculator turns them into profit per order. It is one of the free Meesho seller tools on this site.
How much commission does Meesho charge, and what does 0% leave out?
None, going by Meesho's own wording. Its Sell on Meesho YouTube channel describes selling at 0% commission (as read on 14 October 2026). That is marketing wording about one line, the commission. It is not a claim that selling costs nothing, and Meesho's supplier pages list the other costs in the table above.
Do not expect third-party sites to settle the question. Some calculators and blogs model no commission, others subtract a percentage, and none of them can see your account. If a tool asks for a commission rate, enter what your own statements show. The calculator on this site has no fee table built in for the same reason.
The Meesho zero commission model also does not tell you your all-in cost. For that, add up a month of shipping charges, return shipping fees, ad spend and other deductions, then divide by your delivered sales value. The result is your own percentage, and it will differ from anyone else's.
What are Meesho shipping charges for sellers?
Meesho's supplier pages list shipping charges among the costs that still apply (as read on 14 October 2026). We did not find an amount on any page we could read, and we will not copy one from a blog, because Meesho sets the charge and it can change.
Meesho's pages name weight for the return fee, covered next. Couriers in general also charge by weight and by distance, so a light product and a heavy one are unlikely to cost the same to ship. Check how your panel shows the charge before you price a heavier product. To see yours:
- Open the payment entries for a few recent delivered orders, including a light product and a heavy one.
- Write down every charge Meesho shows against each order.
- Repeat the check once a month. Charges can change, and last quarter's figure may no longer apply.
Who pays return shipping on Meesho?
Meesho return charges for sellers start with the return shipping fee. On a customer return the seller pays it, according to Meesho's supplier pages (as read on 14 October 2026). It is based on weight and shown per product, so it differs between your products. Read it for each product before you set a price, not after the first return arrives.
The fee is only part of what a return costs. You also lose the sale, and the item can come back in a state you cannot resell. If a returned item is wrong, damaged, used or missing, you can raise a claim, covered below. For ways to cut returns in the first place, read how to reduce returns and RTO on Meesho.

What is RTO on Meesho, and how do RTO charges differ from a return?
For a Meesho seller, RTO means return to origin: a parcel that could not be delivered, so after the delivery attempts it comes back to you. Typical causes are a customer who refuses a cash-on-delivery parcel or cannot be reached. Meesho's supplier pages show these under Orders, Return/RTO (as read on 14 October 2026). A customer return is different: the customer received the order and sent it back.
On Meesho RTO charges, the supplier pages say no extra shipping fee is charged on an RTO parcel. A customer return does carry the return shipping fee. The table puts the three outcomes side by side.
| Outcome | Sale kept? | Return shipping fee | Where to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delivered and kept | Yes | None | Payments tab: the credit and its deductions |
| Customer return | No | Yes: based on weight, shown per product | Product details for the fee; Orders, Return/RTO; Payments tab |
| RTO | No | No extra shipping fee | Orders, Return/RTO; Payments tab for how the order was treated |
'No extra shipping fee' covers one fee only. It does not make an RTO free: the sale is gone, the parcel and its packaging are back with you, and a wrong, damaged, used or missing item can still need a claim. Whether anything else is taken off an RTO order is something to read from your own Payments tab, on a few real orders.
What is an RTO claim on Meesho?
A claim is the ticket you raise with Meesho when a parcel that comes back is wrong, damaged, used or missing items. Meesho's returns SOP, effective 15 March 2023 and read on 14 October 2026, has suppliers raise a claim ticket with proof such as an unboxing video, the sub-order number and images. In outline:
- Record an unboxing video when you open a returned parcel. Proof has to exist before you need it.
- Note the sub-order number and photograph the items inside.
- Raise the claim ticket from your panel and attach the video, the number and the images.
- Keep your own copy of everything you sent.
We quote no time limits or approval rates here. Meesho sets both and can change them, and the SOP is dated March 2023, so check your panel for newer claim and packaging guidance. Read it before the next parcel arrives, not after.
Ads and packaging: the costs you control
Ads are the one cost here you choose. Meesho's supplier pages list ads you choose to run among the costs that still apply (as read on 14 October 2026), so count the spend per order and judge an ad on profit after returns, not on order count. How to run Meesho ads covers budgets and break-even.
Meesho's shipping page says it does not supply packaging (as read on 14 October 2026), so the polybag, box and tape on every parcel are yours to buy. Add the cost of one packed parcel to your product cost. Meesho's packaging guidance has changed over time, and its newer videos describe branded packaging that sellers can buy through the Meesho app, so read the current rules in your panel before you buy in bulk.
Where do Meesho deductions show up in the Payments tab?
Meesho's Learning Hub lesson on first payments lists these items in the Payments tab (as read on 14 October 2026):
- Next payment and Last payment
- Total Outstanding Payments
- Previous Payment
- Commission Tax Invoice
- Deductions and Compensations
Start with Deductions and Compensations, then open Commission Tax Invoice and read what it lists for your account next to the 0% wording above. Layouts and names can change, so open each item once and note what it shows. If a line looks wrong, raise a ticket from the Support section of your panel with the order number ready.
Put your own charges into the Meesho profit calculator
Build your own rate card from three real orders: one delivered and kept, one customer return and one RTO. Find each under Orders, then see what the Payments tab shows for it. That gives you figures that are right for your account, which no general guide, this one included, can give you. Then enter them like this:
| Your cost | Calculator box | Where you read it |
|---|---|---|
| Product, packaging and outbound shipping | Product cost. There is no separate box for fixed per-order charges, so add them together | Your bills; the Payments tab for shipping |
| Commission, if your statements show one | Platform commission, which starts at 0 on the Meesho page | The Payments tab |
| Customer returns | Return rate, then Return shipping and Damaged returns on the Advanced tab | Orders, Return/RTO; the product's details for the fee |
| RTO | RTO rate on the Advanced tab | Orders, Return/RTO |
| Ads | Ad spend, as a share of selling price, on the Advanced tab | The ads section of your panel |
| GST | GST rate | Your accountant |
One detail: the calculator prices each RTO order at the same Return shipping amount as a customer return. If your Payments tab shows no such charge on RTO orders, set the RTO rate to 0 and watch your RTO share separately, because for you it is lost sales, not a fee.
Here is a worked example with made-up numbers, not Meesho's rates. Say a delivered order leaves you ₹100 profit after your own costs, a customer return costs you a ₹50 return shipping fee and the stock comes back sellable, and 20 of every 100 orders do not stay sold.
| What happened to the 20 orders | Profit on 100 orders (₹) | Profit lost (₹) |
|---|---|---|
| None: all 100 delivered and kept | 10,000 | 0 |
| All 20 came back as RTO, no extra fee | 8,000 | 2,000 |
| 10 customer returns and 10 RTO | 7,500 | 2,500 |
| All 20 were customer returns | 7,000 | 3,000 |
Losing 20 orders in 100 costs between a fifth and 30 per cent of profit here, and in this example the lost sale costs more than the fee. Your numbers will differ. If your return fee is higher than what a delivered order earns, each customer return costs more than the sale was worth. If your Payments tab shows the outbound shipping charge is also taken on returned or RTO orders, the real loss is bigger than the table shows.
For the full per-order sum, read how to calculate profit on Meesho. If orders rise but money does not, see why sales grow but profit falls. For how these costs fit into a seller's overall earnings, read how much Meesho sellers earn.
